Between Life
This peice is about how, throughout history, there have been different answers for the afterlife. The sculpture is an interpretation of the feeling just before death, wanting to be in a warm and familiar space, halfway between existing and the beyond. the intention is to show the beauty we can seek from our endings being ceremonious and celebrated.
The sculpture has natural grooves, like a cave created from water, encompassed by a man made smooth form with imperfections from making marks.
Currently working on an Etching print of my local river.
It will be my first attempt at an etching so Iām experimenting a little with technique, hopefully the shaded layers underneath the line layer are easily transferable via lino or stencil as I do not want the same scratchy character to be applied to those layers.
